Laser Hair Removal Pre and Post Care

To ensure you achieve the best possible results from your laser hair removal treatments, proper preparation and aftercare are essential. Please take the time to review our guidelines below to help your skin stay smooth, healthy, and irritation-free throughout the process.

Laser Hair Removal Skin Preparation

For your safety and best outcomes, a few adjustments to your skincare routine are recommended before your appointment:

Collapsible content

Shave the area to be treated 24 hours in advance.

  • This helps the laser focus on the hair root below the skin surface. We offer shaving for some body areas in-clinic (additional fee applies), but not for the face or intimate zones.

Skip skincare products on the day of treatment.

  • Keep the area free of lotions, deodorant, oils, or serums.

Pause the use of active ingredients.

  • Including retinol or vitamin A creams, at least one week before your appointment.

Avoid sun exposure as much as possible.

If you’ve recently tanned, it’s best to wait:
  • 4 weeks after intentional tanning or beach holidays.
  • 2 weeks after mild or indirect sun exposure.

Hold off on fake tanning.

  • Or self-tanning products for a minimum of two weeks.

Postpone any intense skin treatments.

  • Like resurfacing, peels, or needling in the treatment area for 2–4 weeks beforehand.

Discontinue tanning injections.

  • Such as Melanotan II, at least six months prior.

Aftercare Tips for Smoother, Happier Skin

Following your laser treatment, your skin needs time to heal and respond to the process.
Here’s how to support recovery and avoid irritation:

Collapsible content

Skip makeup

  • Or any heavy skincare on the area for at least 24 hours.

Avoid heat and sweat

  • Including hot showers, saunas, and intense workouts — for the next 48–72 hours.

Stay gentle with your skin

  • Don’t scratch, exfoliate, or wear anything tight over the treated area during the first few days.

Hydrate and soothe the skin

  • Using post-laser care products recommended by your therapist (like cooling gels or calming serums).

Keep actives off the skin

  • For 3 days post-treatment to prevent reactions.

Start gentle exfoliation

  • Around Day 5 to help loosen treated hairs — they’ll begin to shed on their own. Avoid plucking or pulling.

Sun protection is non-negotiable

  • Use SPF 50+ daily and limit direct sunlight for at least two weeks.
